I'm wanting to make placemats myself but can't decide LOL it's just me but one table (the really casual table) has 4 places and the other I have set up for 4 (it's a round table) but can seat 6 with all the chairs and a leaf in place...it's not like I ever have company but 'could' so I'm debating what to do for mine! for me I'd prefer just a bunch of singles but then if I have a couple of friends over nothing would match! so I'm thinking of doing some sets of 4 and then singles or doubles for the others.

if I were making them for a gift for a single person I'd make 2 or 4 either the same or different. I tend to be messy so could use one of the others while washing the dirty one. I like the idea of 2 and a table runner/coasters too

for my cousin that's getting married next month, I made her a set of two for her and her DH, plus napkins, towels and crocheted washcloths, all in sets for the holidays. I made, Valentines day, St Pats day, Patriotic, Halloween and picnic wich had paper plates, napkins and plastic silverware. she loved it.
