Default How many placemats to make?

Have you ever given two placemats as a gift if it goes to a person who lives alone? Or do you always make a set of four?

Thanks, Marilee

I often give two placemats even for a couple.

You could add in matching coasters and a tabletopper.

Two is fine, I have even made only 3 for someone who has a bartop counter in their kitchen that seats 3.

I make sets of 2, 4, 6 & 8 depending on who they are going to. There are only 2 of us so we have a couple ( pairs).

I just recently made and gave my elderly neighbors 2 placemats for the 4th. Years ago I made my sister whatever the number of chairs were at the table I really don't know if she used them at all, I believe she was a bit overwhelmed when she saw everything she had requested (she wanted placemats, a bread holder and seat cushions) they were a birthday gift so I didn't mind.

Two, four, six, eight, who do we appreciate? Sorry, couldn't resist! Glad you asked this really though, was thinking of making some for my SIL, they have a large table, and she doesn't keep them on, there's just 2 of them, but the table seats 6, and she puts them out when having company, just wondering if there was an extra 1 or 2 to squeeze in.......
