Yes, Myra, the aqua is firm. It is not very intense at all and I wanted it to stand out from the white. (this pic was to show the stain I made!)

I like more quilting. I have not found that it makes a quilt too stiff. I also think it will hold up better to heavy use with more quilting. I do like the curves you're putting on the quilt, in any case.

Good for you Kitsie, the aqua is very, very sweet.

I like the more. The pattern of the more side is just beautiful.

More. And since you want to feature your quilting by using the aqua thread, I'd do a double line of the more version -- so about 1/4 inch echo of your design, to really set it off. I don't think it will make the quilt stiff at all -- it will be great.

"More" quilting really does not make a quilt stiffer unless it's very tight, such as in dense small size stippling or cross-hatching about 1/4" apart over large areas.

Because this is a baby quilt which may receive lots of washing, the 'more quilted" picture looks as though it would support the quilt better over the long run.

If you like the more, do the more. I would not add any additional quilting for a baby quilt or you will wind up with a baby playmat. Ask me how I know. Especially be careful with echo quilting as the stiffness is magnified because of the thin area between quilting paths.

Definitely More, not only looks better to me, but baby quilts get washed more often than regular quilts.
