Can someone post pix of how to use cone thread? How to load a bobbin with it and how to use it to sew? I have a Babylock Quilter's Choice Domestic Machine and want to use cone thread. I am definitely a visual learner...

Get a thread stand and put the cone on it or use a mug to set it in. Hope this helps.

My cones are sit in glass dish, the sides of the cone not touching the sides of the dish. Let the thread go up and loosely drape around the vertical thread spool, thread machine or wind bobbin as usual :D:D:D

I don't have your machine, but here is how I do mine.

This was an inexpensive thread stand and I have had it for years (I think it is a Dritz) -- it has a thin enough spindle for the minicones too.

I was having problems with thread breaking or jumping out of the tension disks so I started using the clips to hold the thread in position to give a good run into the tension disks.

Just be sure the stand is heavy enough not to turn over. I bought a plastic one and the thread cone was heavier then the stand. It was frustrating to use. I would pull thread and the whole stand would fall over. I bought the heavy one from Connecting Threads, love it. I needed another one so bought the pretty one too. I like the pretty one much better. A quart jar is good if you don't have a stand.
Be sure the stand is placed behind the first thread eye of your machine. That will eliminate a lot of problems.

I had purchased cone thread. My DH first carved me a wooden piece that fit inside the cone. After awhile that did not work. He's handy with his hands and made me a cone stand that works great

Looked at pics of the Quest Plus on the Babylock site. Looks like there is a place for the cones. If this is your machine, the thread would go up through the opening on the metal rod, then be threaded according to the diagram on top of the machine, if your machine is like my Babylock Ellegante and Babylock Jane. The thread would go through the metal rod opening down to the metal guide nearest the tall metal rod, then through the metal guide on the left, and back over to the bobbin winder. Pages 2-4 in the quick reference guide that should have come with your machine. Otherwise, go to Babylock.com. type in quest plus, select tab for FAQ & manuals. Click on the ref guide.
