I hand quilt on a lap hoop & usually just use masking tape to get perfect straight lines but I was wondering if this quilt needed some curves in it. Would you quilt a clam shell or other design or stick to the cross hatch method?

i wouldn't put the curves in your center section as it would mess up your pretty stripe-y design. you might put them in the solid sections, though, if you want to soften the quilt with curves.

I would just do 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch from each seam. Will be very pretty on the back. Love your colors!

OH MY - that's neat looking. Very interesting. I don't know how to quilt it...I'm a newbie. But I quess you will get plenty of suggestions from experienced people. Hope to see the end result.

That would get my vote, too. Those fans are so pretty on different styles of quilt - traditional, plain, intricately pieced, repro fabrics, batiks, solids - and they add some beautiful curve to pointy squares. :)

I tend to quilt according to how busy the design is, if it wont show up, just outline quilt it.

Beautiful quilt. I wouldn't put curves on it. Love the strong angular design.
