Default How would you quilt this?

I don't do FMQ, but I can do stencils. I have some, but don't think most of them would work with this design.

I was thinking of just doing straight lines on a diagonal going through the tips of the small squares and all the way to the middle ...

    Any other ideas?

Pretty top! Check the batt quilting requirements. I might SITD on the paths formed by the different colours and then stitch down the centers of the little squares too.

I was going to suggest the same as Tartan. Which is the same as you suggested, with the extra step of making sure none of your points shift.
    Beautiful dog in your avatar!

Love your quilt. Maybe this is the one that will start you on FMQ. If you do stencils, couldn't you just mark a meandering "stencil" of curves and loop-de-loops to follow?

Quilter53 - In all honesty, right now I have given up on doing FMQ ... it is just too frustrating, and I always end up wrecking everything. I just can't seem to "get it going" ... if it's not one thing, it's another. I posted recently - "I finally did it - Quilting with stencils" and that's about as far as I can go LOL ... I did that with my walking foot.

Maybe in a couple of years once I get the hang of this, I'll be able to move to FMQ, but am not holding my breath!

Pretty top! Stitching along the diagonals would be great.

I would try to do something to emphasize the barn raising layout - maybe find a stencil that fits?
