Default Quilting Journals

I am curious if any of you use a Quilting Journal and if so, which one? Have looked at several different ones on Amazon but having a hard time deciding between them. I've only been sewing for a couple of years - started with rag quilts, graduated to a Jelly Roll Race quilt and have finally just completed my first pieced quilt top. I've decided that it would be nice to keep some kind of record of what I'm doing. Thanks in advance for any help. I LOVE the Quilting Board and it's members!

I started out with good intentions and kept a journal with the details of the quilt and a picture. But the more I made and we very rarely print any of the pictures we take I stopped keeping a journal. So if you don't print pictures, you may want to look for an on-line journal. (Bon't know if there is such a thing, but you could come up with something on your own.)

Just not enough time in the day. I do take pictures when I am able.

I started one in a regular loose leaf but no longer keep it up. So many quilts, so little time! :-)

I think its such a good idea, but I'm not too organized. I use the little Mead notebooks that have normal notebook paper on one side and quarter grid paper on the back. IHad to order them direct from Mead) Then I put all my ideas, meeting notes, calculations in it. I haven't added photos of my quilts, I keep them on my phone. Now to actually print out the photos and put them in the appropriate place in the notebook would be a good thing.

I bought several Quilter's Journal by Fairfield. I use Groove Book to have my pictures printed from my phone to put in the journal.

Because I have a blog most of my quilts and projects end up on it like a journal. I am so happy to have a record of what I am doing and highly recommend a journal of some sort. My mom made a book of my grandmothers quilts with photos taken by those who were recipients of her quilts. It is a wonderful book.

Thanks for the responses! I agree about keeping some kind of record, but most of my pictures are on my phone, which I never seem to get around to having printed. Decided to just keep a notebook with basic fabric description and recipients. Something easy that I might actually keep doing.

Spiral bound sketch pads and regular spiral notebooks work for me. Someone ( gifted) me a {quilter's journal} a few years ago, to me it was a waste of money- I hope they didn't pay much for it- way too restrictive, not enough room for what I include, no place for pictures... Some quilts may only need 1/2 a page, others might need numerous pages with notes, sketches, pictures. I've not looked at what amazon is offering, back to school sales are a great place to pick up a variety of options to try out, see what format works for you. I like to include swatches of fabrics, pictures, notes, even a batting swatch if I've found a new one to try.
