so I have bribed myself with 15 mins basting then 15 mins board. I did look for basting spray but none of the LNS seems to stock it.

I hate it, too. Do you have a basting gun? That makes it easier, I hate doing it with needle and thread...just won't do it.

What is a basting gun? That's a new one to me, but then as a beginning quilter, everything is new to me.

For machine quilting I use pins. The only hand quiting project I've done so far I thread basted. Just recently got a basting gun, so will try that out.

I only ever use 505 basting spray, it definitely takes the hard work out of it. You can baste a whole side of a quilt in 15 minutes :thumbup:

I don't do any hand quilting, only machine quilting so I always use spray baste. I love it. Quick and easy and able to start quilting in less than an hour. Also on small projects like wall hangings I use straight pins. So much easier.

Oh my goodness, I just watched the Pinmoor video. I started to say that I have used pincel erasers on the end of straight pins but thought it sounded too dumb. Who knew!
