the two things that helped me:
    1. stop the sewing 1/4" before the corner
    2. fold the binding backward at an exact 90º to the side you just sewed

I think you mean 'fiasco" lol

But there is a trick to it and you don't have to pay for it. Are you trying to do the miter corners when you are sewing the front on by machine? Is that where the hard part is? Or is it getting the mitered corners on the back when you hand stitch it?

I just did a binding on a few small items and took lots of pictures I will post when I have them up on my blog. PM me if you want I'll try to help you out.

I just finished binding a table runner and used Sharon Schamber's techniques from her binding tutorials. Wow! The difference was amazing. 1st it was way easier than I expected and the result was much more professional looking. I highly recommend her utube tutorials.

When I first started quilting I did each side of my bindings individually turning my ends under to finish. The quilt police never arrested me either! They looked really nice & I especially liked the sharp corners on wall hangings. I have since learned to miter corners & don't do it that way any more, but I am happy with the way my older quilts look.
