I have a little "pencil magnet" that I run over everything to find them (smile). It works great.

Those little Mechanic wands are good for finding lost needles and dropped pins just wave it around the floor and it will find it. They have a telescoping handle I got two for $3.00 at Harbor freight but you should be able to get them at any auto parts place.

I swear, there is nothing worse than dropping that tiny little between needle and then not being able to find it. Yeah, it's somewhere in my chair, but when will I find it, and with what body part?

My DH's bare feet also have a magnetic attraction to lost pins and needles. Worst was once when my BIL was visiting though, and HE found one of my pins.
