Once you add sashing...the placement won't matter that much...I'd place the sashing fabric on the design wall..then place the sashing fabric, leaving what will be the finished width of the sashing showing between...that way you can get a better idea of what the assembled quilt will look like.

Take a picture of it. Cut the blocks out and rearrange. Its easier than resetting the pieces.

I think when you add the sashing you will find an arrangement you love! I agree with Margecam

Your block all look nice but I think what might be throwing you off is the heart block that is appliqued. When I covered that one the quilt looked great - try it. Maybe make one more pieced block if you have enough fabric .Once you get the shashing on I think you will be happier.

Default Looking Wrong?

Beautiful blocks! I like heart in middle ..............But that said.................little trick I learned. Take digital picture of each setting you come up with. Let them set for a day or so then look at each setting you have come up with....Usually one will stand out as the "right one"
Good Luck all look great let us know when you get it done and send Pic

it looks like some of your blocks are small then others. maybe you need to put a small block with two large ones so that all your rows are the same length.

I love your blocks. I agree that the bottom 3 blocks could use some tweaking. The left and right ones need the third colour, as all the other blocks have 3 colours. The center block needs more "white" space. Those are minor things so if she loves them, just work with them. She's the one who has to like it.

I really like your suggestion of making three more hearts and put one in each corner. That would make a gorgeous quilt!!!
