I've been thinking of fabric colors for a quilt I would like to make for my youngest sister. Both her and my brother-in-law like blue. She says I have a great taste and will leave it up to me. I thought of blue and yellow together.
Has anyone made a quilt with solid colors, just something like blue/yellow red/blue....

I am making two quilts right one..one is a black and red pinwheel and the other is a string quilt in which I am using a light blue that has some different colors in it, pink, yellow, purple and a darker blue ..Here is a picture of one my blocks and the other is the completed top of the pinwheel ..In the process of quilting that one now..

Jacob's Ladder lends itself to monochromatic with an alternate. I did a green and white - should work with blue and white too.

I try to use fabrics that read as solids as I dislike how flat the solids look. But I've done one-color and two-color quilts and loved them.

I did one in 10 different shades of green from black background with bright lime green leaves to light background with dark green to light green with white flowers to a pale almost yellow green with medium green vines and various others in between.

I haven't done a blue one yet, but have had a couple of requests to do so...someday it will happen.

Most of the time I use blenders instead of solid colors, but it just depends on the quilt. I did one with bright pink, bright yellow and bright lime solids for sashing and cornerstones to go with a print that had those colors in it and I loved how it came out.

I did a blue and yellow quilt for a wedding gift . It was done in a sampler design and it was done in rows.I alternated the blocks from blue to yellow and used every shade of those colors I could find I sashed and bordered it in a .blue and yellow floral.I chose a sampler look because I get bored making king sized and using a different design keeps me going.
