I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see what you make. I''m also jealous-I planned on taking a pp class but just this week our LQS closed it's doors. I can't grasp the concept of how much fabric is needed to cover the areas and then what to cut off (left brain/right brain malfunction). Please post any tips you can. I'm hoping between you and Amma and others on the board I can learn along with you. Good luck-I know you'll make something great.

You're going to get addicted to paper piecing...I did! I love the unusual designs on some of them. Can't wait to see what you've done.

Well, spent more time last night and threw away several attempts. It was that dreaded combo of late at night and tired...not smart to work on a new skill! I will try again tonight after my daughter's soccer game. I'm in trial all day today so won't get any time to work on it!!

As I'm doing it, all I can think is "who the heck invented this"???? Must've been one of those engineer types because it really is a hard concept to get and the result is soooo fabulous.

Sometimes my mind does wander like that...but people are paying me an awful lot of their hard-earned money to keep focused on their issues, so I try my hardest to stay in the moment. Sometimes when people are testifying it can get soooooo boring..the stories, and their nervousness makes for a long winded way for most folks to get to an answer. Real life court is NOT what you see on TV, that's for sure!!!

You'll never believe this - I was all excited to work on my blocks when I got home from work yesterday. I finished up one, and started on a second. But I couldn't get it going. I kept cutting off the second piece and had no idea what was wrong. So, I called the instructor as she gave us her phone number. When I explained it, she couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Turns out she lives about 3 minutes from my house, so she invited me over to figure out what I was doing wrong!! Isn't that so sweet of her??? I couldn't believe it!!! So, I went there and lo and behold, it was a simple little cutting mistake - I wasn't cutting the 1/4 inch after laying down my first piece of fabric. You would not believe her sewing room. Amazing, with all kinds of light, big table, lots of design walls, and the best area for sewing - the cutting board and ironing all situated so you don't have to get up at all. I wanted to take pictures to post but felt like it would be rude!! She's very talented and teaches quite often. Anyway, just wanted to share a nice story with ya'll.
