Default Ideas for a Baby quilt

I want to make a quilt for the niece of my bff. I purchased a panel that goes along with the theme of her baby's room. Everything has to be gender neutral. My plan is to NOT keep the panel whole and cut it apart & and use all the pieces. Here is a picture of the panel and the colors my BFF selected... Any thoughts on a pattern?? The squares are 10 inches.

How adorable! Have you gone to Pinterest and typed "baby quilts" in search? You might get some inspiration there. I can't wait to see the completed quilt!

Wonderful color choices.

Love the panel. You can't make a bad quilt with this fabric. I would like to have one of these panels. I would use the yellow, brown, orange and cream fabrics. make the sashings all the same color and use the other colors for borders.
Also I would use green and forget about the blue. Width of the sashings and borders depends on the size you want
the quilt to be. (just my thoughts)

I would cut the panel into squares, then add triangles to all four sides of the squares to make the blocks on-point. That way the quilt gets to a good size fast, even though you only have a few printed blocks. I'd keep the long, narrow panels on the top and bottom of the quilt for length.

I would just do an imitation of a D9P planning where the two sides of sashing will go along with the cornerstone. Then you can preview and see what the quilt will look like before you start sewing. I look at Pinterest and Google Images to get inspired with some ideas.

You could make the panel blocks into snowballs and put sashing all around with some borders.

10" finished is the perfect size for a 2" single Irish chain with cornerstones. Might be something to consider.

http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2016/...-assemble.html This might give you an idea of something to do. It was just on Bonnie Hunter's blog this morning. It is too cute!!!! You have some beautiful fabrics to work with!

I was thinking of a log cabin type block.

I would make the blocks the centers of an Irish Chain. You wouldn't need all the colors, just a few, so I'd ditch the yellow, green and blue.

Very pretty panel squares!
