I have several Brothers, not this one, and love them, so user friendly

You will find the Brother instruction book very easy to understand, as is the machine. When hubby is putting those designs onto the cd, remember, you can only stitch out 4" (100ml) designs, so anything larger can't be used. Also most cd's have multi-formated designs for many machines, so you will only need one - I think all Brothers use PES, some maybe PEC? not sure.

You will really benefit from going to some classes or joining a group in your local area.
Enjoy, and looking forward to seeing some of your creations.

Also, look on this Board - there is an Embroidery Chat section right here, and you can also join some on-line groups. Since I am so time-limited, I don't have the time to go to outside classes very often. But you are going to LOVE your machine, and as someone above said - it is addictive!

I have the same machine and it is easy to operate. If I can do it anyone can. I also have the Brother 780D because I wanted to be able to do Disney. I love both machines and both are very user friendly.

The world would have to end in order for me not to immediately try out a new machine. I get them right out of the box as soon as I get home. I have to realize not everyone is like me.
Enjoy using it.

I'm a newbie too. I have a Brother PE770 that sat in the box for an embarrassingly long time. Just recently I put names on a couple of Xmas Stockings, just winged it, but it was amazingly easy. Just jump in and experiment.

I just bought (probably invested is a better word) the NEW Husqvarna Epic sewing/embroidery machine so I know exactly how you feel. The dealer delivered it to my house on Monday (today's Wed.) & then spent the day with me going over a few things. So far, I know how to download designs from my laptop to the Epic (easy peasy), can sew basic functions. Haven't tried any designs yet because I now have come down with a bad cold & don't feel much like sewing. It's a bit scary because this machine costs several thousand $$ in Canada but I am determined I am going to use it & use it a lot. Good luck with your purchase & don't give up.
