Did you talk to a dealer about this Model and if so, did you sew on it??

I have 3 Janomes and love them. I shopped all brands of machines and Janome impressed me from the get go...never a regret for purchasing. and they are quiet too. I went to the Janome website to compare the DC 2012 with my Janome Decor 3050. They are very comparable to each othe feature wise. I went to AllBrands to check the price on the DC 2012 and is it retails $499 which is what I paid for mine. i love my Decor 3050. The 2012 is a limited edition...not that it is worrisome. The mfgrs. Are always bringing out new models to confuse us. As a Janome lover, I would not be concerned about the quality of the DC 2012 if it appeals to you.

There is no local dealer for Janome around me area.. so I will be ordering online... but from the reviews I have read it seems to be a fantastic machine! but of course I have never sewn on it! I do not need anything fancy, but I want something that will last me! I just want to do basic sewing and quilting!

I think that you would be happy with this machine but I also have to ask...when you want to "quilt", do you want to do free motion quilting or stitch in the dithch?? The throat onthe DC 2012 will not give you a lot of room for the bulk of a large quilt. I just have to point this out. For piecing and general sewing, you should be fine, in my opinion. But, I love Janome so I am biased.

What drew you to this machine, just curious?

By the way, I checked out amazon.com for pricing..the DC 2012 is $499 and the Decor 3050 is $449. Read the reviews too. Your 2012 is top rated by 41 reviewers. 5 stars.

As far as quilting... I am a beginner all the way.. have no even made one yet myself! Long story short.. I was given a whole quilting room that was a ladies.... so I am soo excited about getting started with quilting! I have always done basic sewing off and on for years, but never started getting into quilting.... As far as what drew me to this machine.. I have just been searching online for several days and reading reviews etc .. and ran across this one for a good price so thought I would check it out!

And it comes with more feet than my 3050! I bought mine 5 years ago. I just spent 2 hours using it to appliqué stitch around some fusible appliqué flip flops. You will love the computerized machine. Like power steering!

We must be the only ones still up! LOL!
