I am up yet too, and I have been looking at the Janome's. did not know which I should look at because I still don't know what I want to do. may be a sweet sixteen too.

Nobody else has this machine??? ... and what do you mean about the "throat" do not all standard machine have about the same amount of space in that area?

This is a standard machine but it does not have a long bed/throat . There are larger machines with longer spaces from the needle to the right. The more room, the more space to accommodate a rolled up quilt when quilting the three layers of the quilt. It may be tight fit on this machine. Te larger machines will cost more. Head to the Janome site to compare the machines. This one is comprabke o the DC 2011.
