    Default Janome foot pedal stops?

I have a Janome 8050 and while piecing tonight and last night my foot pedal kept beeping and looked like it wasn't getting power. It would stop working and the picture of the foot pedal would dissapear from my display. Is it just a short in the foot pedal? I'll call Janome tomorrow but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Take it apart and see if it's got lint, thread, etc. in it. Mine did the same thing, and DH took it apart. There was enough hair in there to make a wig!

Do you have a sew machine dealer close by? Mine was doing that too, and I had to press on the foot pedal a couple of times to get it to sew; or it would keep sewing after I took my foot off . I had taken my pedal to the dealer about a year ago and he took it apart and cleaned it. but it has been doing it again ; so I took it back and he sold me a new one. He said they sometimes wear out after a lot of use; the soldering breaks.

I had a Janome foot pedal that stopped and then sometimes raced and I had to turn off the machine to get it to stop. Very scary. I took it to the dealer and they had me purchase another pedal that looked the same. Sure enough a few months later the same thing happened again. I think it was a defective pedal = the one I have now has a retractable cord and is a different design. It does not do that. If your is a narrow foot pedal that does not have a retractable cord, it is probably like my old one. Not good, especially when it races at full speed. My retractable cord foot pedal has been wonderful.

Ok maybe I'll just buy a new foot pedal instead of paying for a service call just to buy a new pedal anyway. Thank you!

I took her into the shop and they said it's probably the plug acting up. I had to leave her there for a few days and I'm so sad without her! Lol

I looked at the large harp machines there and might be convincing hubby to get me the élan 730. Looks so nice and they will give me $300 for trade for my machine. I hope he lets me get it I'm crossing my fkngers
