I tried to fmq with my Janome 6600 without the bobbin case and got really bad results. Popped in the new case and got really nice stitching.

A friend of mine purchased her 6600 at the same time I did. She doesn't need the fmq bobbin case. So I think it just depends on the machine. But I do love the case, but not too excited about the "hopping foot" they sell. Mine doesn't hop.

top on my list is the Acufeed Ditch Quilting Foot for the 6600p.

now, if they'd just come out with an open-toe version ... (i'll bet they do. they finally put an open-toe walking foot on the market for the rest of the janome machines. that sucker is worth every penny. :P )

i want one of those accessory boxes, too. one came with my 6600p, but i want another for my other machine. so much better than a pile of feet to search through when you need to use something special.

the others are pretty pricey and i'm not sure yet i'd put them to enough use to justify the expense. (we'll probably know the answer to that question shorty after my income tax refund arrives. )

Mamagus - On going through my Janome feet and looking at the website, I am just wondering if the applique foot is the same or different to the satin stitch foot F.
    I also have the MC6500P.

Could you please clarify that for me?

The applique foot is very different. It has very little of the plastic touching the fabric. Enough to feed it but makes it much easier to turn the fabric in tight circles. I liked how it felt like I was in control and not fighting the feed dogs.
