Yes, I will admit to being one of the first brave souls to be in line at 5:30 for JoAnns. Got into the store at 6AM, grabbed a cart, pulled all the fleece that would fit into my cart and headed for the cutting line. Took my number...it was D 53. OK, this shouldn't be too bad I thought to myself...until they called the next number which was C 60 something!!!!! OMG...where did all those numbers go in 20 minutes???? I waited a bit and then did something I'm not too proud of but I pulled my basket over to the side and left it all alone while I went across the street to McDonalds for coffee. It was now a bit after 7AM and I knew Hancocks opened at 8, so I drive the 3 miles over and waited. They opened, I picked out what I wanted, got it cut and was out in about 35 minutes....doing the happy dance!! Thought in my mind that the line should have thinned out at JoAnns, so I stopped back in.....found my basket right where I left it. Well, what number do you think they were calling but D51....OMG, I was so happy I ran over to the batting and bought an entire 40 yard roll of Warm and Natural. With the 20% off coupon, I ended up saving almost $400.00 off my entire order. Thank you Santa Baby!!!

Oh yea, I was home by 10:30 and enjoyed leftovers....now to finish a King size quilt for Christmas!!

The sales ''were'' great but the waiting was just killing me....

This is the best Black Friday shopping story I've ever heard. Good for you!

What a great shopping day you had! I love fleece for backings and tied quilts. My cousin was first in the door at the Joann's in her town to buy her MIL a Go. She was told the one Go they had to sell was already sold. She said to who? I'm the first one here for it! No other customers there even asked about it, she got everyone's attention and asked who here bought the Go this morning. No one did. She was livid. I don't think she will be satisfied with the it's already sold pitch.

Now I will be a bit more honest.....if they had not called my number when I went back 2+ hours later, I was really going to empty out that shopping cart and put it back on the shelves but I was so amazed it was all still there.

I did treat my self to the Rowenta iron that was one of the doorbuster items but when I sat and read the instructions ( while sitting at Hancocks!!) I realized it doesn't have the auto shutoff my old iron has but then maybe this is a good thing because there is nothing worse than picking it up only to find it is cold!!
