Thanks for that link. Notice that it was published in 1932 and states that it was an old pattern even at that date.

I have the Kansas City Star collection books and Job's Tears was published January 27, 1932. It does have the squared off center. I feel it can be made a circle without a problem. The pattern suggests dark green for the corner and center eye and light green to surround the eye and a base of light.
You could easily draft the pattern yourself, as in my books it tells us to redraft all patterns before using them.
I have an early version of BB but have not used it in YEARS, does anyone more computer savvy able to find it in BB. If not I can find my CD and look for it.

I have a book"Polly Prindle's Book of American Patchwork Quilts" from 1973. It is in that book. I suspect it would be available on Amazon. I love the book and have made several quilts from it. Job's Tears is on my list to do. Pm me if you need further info.

Which edition of Blockbase would that be? You guys are the greatest. I searched images on google and the reference to the Tribune and Blockbase was all that I could come up with but nowhere to actually purchase the pattern.
Blockbase is a program created by Electric Quilt.

Isn't this group the VERY BEST, I continue to learn from every posted subject.

From me, a huge thank you to those who come up with the perfect help. Having so much help is like having every quilt pattern/book printed--right at our finger tips.

I'm not good at designing blocks, but can't you make an endless amount of narrow bias tape and then mark off four orange peels on a block and applique the bias around the orange peel. Now I'm laughing....probably wouldn't work, just looking for the easy way out.
