I recieved my new Keepsake Quilting catalog today and I was very disappointed. 99% of their fabric is sold either in kits, charm packs, 1/2 yard, or fat quarters, mostly kits. Maybe I'm strange but I don't mind a kit once in a while but I want to have the choice of choosing my own fabrics for my quilts. Why are they trying to take our creativity away? I thought these people were quilters!!

I thought the same thing, Jeanniejo. I liked some fabrics but couldn't find the price for by-the-yard. Their FQs had 3 fabrics I liked, then didn't like the other 2. They did show beautiful kits, but I'm not a kit person. Very disappointed as I had always looked forward to their catalog.

Keepsake Quilting also has an on line store for fabric. If you don't find what you want there are hundreds of other on line stores. I like Keepsake for all of the unusual ideas they have. Most of us do not need patterns just great ideas to get us thinking about doing things OUR way. Much joy,to you, in shopping.

I not so good at quilting but have learned in a little over a year, that I don't like making a quilt someone else and many others have already made. I getting more into the creativity side of quilting. Particularly love landscapes...

I hate kits also mainly because if I make a mistake I don't have extra fabric!
Some of the kits do list the fabrics separately and you can order by catalog number. One of the patterns had the fabric I've been looking for for eons, only its backordered until late March  . I guess I can wait... Be careful though, at least one of the patterns they are selling for $9.00 I found free on the internet.
