I buy from the Superior's website. The weekly special sometimes is the large spools of King Tut. The shipping is the lowest I've found too.

The special now is King Tut #904 Mirage 2,000 yd. Cone

I find the brand websites to have the best deals.

It's my favorite too! Mettler is ok but I really am not a huge fan of aurifil. Does king tut have solids or is it all variegated? I use white most often so I don't use king tut very much

They do solids in small reels and cones. Once you've tried King Tut its hard to want anything else.

If the threads shred it's because you're using too small eyed needle for the thread. Apparently the King Tut is in a size the needle you use can handle. Try a 90/14 needle. I suspect the lintiness and shredding would both go down with just about any thread if you use a larger needle.

I was using large needles and up to a 16/100 it was the thread, they shred no matter how big the needle was.

Go on Superior Threads website and you can see all of their threads. I like King Tut, but also their So Fine 40 and Magnifico. I hated YLI and thought it would be good because it was at the quilt store
