    My grandmother used the top of her big chest freezer as a cutting table. She sewed clothes and every pattern was cut on that freezer top. It was scratched all to pieces but she didn't care. No cutting mats then. If you have front loaders you can put a cabinet top across them and have a great cutting /pressing area.

    I was in the laundry room first. laundry never got done! Got rid of family room... nobody used it. Now its my sewing room. Best thing I ever did. Laundry gets done and so does my quilting! :-) :-)

    You can also hang those little dehumidifiers that hold pellets (that you can find in hardware stores) if you don't have room for a bigger electric one.
