I think I like the square version but then the other is interesting and makes me look a little longer at it.

Well I really don't think I want to make it bigger. Some of my blocks might migrate to the front so then sashing would be very doable.

I like the offset better. If it was me, I'd just have to slip a bit of pink onto the back. Or purple would work. Little girls seem to like both of those just as much.

So funny... had to look back and forth at the pictures a couple times to figure out what you meant about offset ... anyway...I prefer the offset...I'm sure it'll coordinate with whatever funky idea you have for the front....

What does being a girl baby have anything to do with it? My older sister liked hunting and fishing since the day she was born. As an adult she was a successful hog farmer :-). I love the quilt, no matter which layout you choose.

I prefer the square layout. The offset version had my eyes going all over the place to make sense of the pattern. It's quite a busy quilt hence sq might be easier on baby's eye.
