Have you ever used linen in your quilts? I really like the look of it, just don't know how easy it would be to sew with. A friend goes to estate sales and says she has some old linen clothing that is all broken in- this seems like it would make a great addition to a quilt. What do you think?

Linen is great in quilts. I love the look of it with cotton. I've seen lots of quilters and crafters using it.

It would look great, but be sure to preshrink. I bought a linen tablecloth not too long ago that shrank so much with its first washing that it no longer fit the table. Made me soooo mad. I'd hate to have that happen in a quilt.

I've used linen in several quilts and quilted items and love it! It can really look polished. I always launder the linen first and starch it really well. When I cut it I usually cut my pieces a little larger so I have plenty of squaring up room. One I use quite frequently is called Essex Linen found at my local LQS as well as http://www.sewmamasew.com/store/inde...x15r5qi56ge02r

Thanks! a friend is going to sell me some well-worn garments to cut up for quilting, I hope. When she gets her Etsy shop up and running, I will post.
