    Someone else mentioned a fabric shop that ripped fabric. In my opinion they must feel confident in the quality of the fabric to be able to do that on a consistent basis. I've had such unevenly cut fabric from table cut bolts that it has me wishing I had such a store as you've described in my area.

    my Amish shop rips all the fabric, and I've gotten into the habit as well. Cottons will rip nicely i've found.

    If I have a ton of squares to cut, I will rip it about a 1/2" larger than needed then just trim up the edges.
