Default Looking for Novelty jelly rolls

I would like to make a baby quilt of little novelty squares. Tractors, food, books, bikes etc. ,"things that would catch the eye of a little one. I found a couple, but aren't very exciting. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Donna

Maybe look for Eye Spy type of fabric? I only see precut fabric in charms though. I made a quilt using strips I cut from all kinds of bright colors and kid's prints but I cut the strips from my own fabrics.

You could put out a request for interesting fabrics. First decide what size you want to use. I certainly would send you a few interesting patches. Who doesn't love surprises in the mail!

You could request those kind of fabrics on this board. I have sent out pieces of fabric to other QB members who just need a little piece of novelty fabric. You would be amazed at how quilters always want to help one another. I know I have some novelty fabric but it is in the shed in our back yard and at this time we are so snowed in that I couldn't get to it for awhile. Just PM me if you have something specific you would like ie: animals, cars etc. Also, you could specify size of fabrics you need.

I participated in a couple of I-Spy swaps on this board. You cut 3 fabrics into squares and sent it to the host and got enough unique squares to make a quilt. I have als collected enough half yards to make my own kits, but that took a while.

Lots of good ideas here. I look forward to seeing your quilt. When I was getting ready to make a crazy quilt, I went to the LQS and got 4.5" of a dozen interesting fabrics. Swapping sounds better to me. Probably others would like to make an eye spy too.

Mo. Star Quilt Co has an ISpy layer cake that you can cut down (I cut into 5" charms) that is a good selection for kids. They may also sell in other precut sizes.

Are you wanting 2.5 inch strips of fabric or squares? I would gladly look through my stash and send you some if you want.
