Default Looking for quilting events in May in Federal Way area

I will be in Federal Way WA for the month of May for a family event. Are there any quilt shows, shophops, special speakers, retreats in that area during that time frame? I will be visiting a couple LQS and hopefully make it to Seattle to check out Martingale Press.
Thank you in advance for your input.

In the Beginning is also located in Seattle. Check out Pacific Fabrics and there's a nifty quilt shop in Bellevue that also sells beads and jewelry findings (forgot the name, sorry). Dunno about shop hops. You can find some quilting books at Half Price Book Stores.

There's Underground Quilts at the Pike Place Market - lots of local things. Quiltworks Northwest in Bellevue - really fun shop. Pacific Fabrics - do the warehouse on 4th Avenue near Safeco Field - amazing fabrics and tons of yarns and notions. And my favorite is the Goodwill Warehouse (on 6th Avenue near Pacific Fabrics) - you have to scrounge, but it can be worth it if you keep an open mind for how to reuse and recycle clothing, linens, fabric, etc. They charge by the pound! Lots more shops to find and explore too. Have fun.

I have family in that area - this might be extra incentive to go visit!

I just checked *The Quilter's Calendar* website and see that Jan Krentz, Becky Goldsmith, Maggie Ball, Melody Crust and Gloria Loughman are teaching in WA in May. If you've ever wanted to take a class with any of them, that might be a fun quilting thing to do - http://www.quilters-calendar.com/?lt...onth=5&yr=2013
