Is there somewhere where you can donate baby quilt tops to a charity and have them quilt them? I have two of them finished and no babies to give them too and would just love to donate the tops.

Maybe someone here that's active in charity programs would do it?

Our guild would be thrilled with your tops. PM me and if you still have the tops, I'll give you my address. We donate to various charities.

You could do as I do.... I make them up, tie them and donate them to my local hospital for new mothers that don't have much for their babies....

I belong to a Church group who's only aim is to make quilts and donate them to local hospitals and charities. We meet for 3 hours on the first and third Sunday and just quilt. Members don't need to belong to that church and we are very generous in making sure that all denominations receive the gift of our quilts. I quilt my own baby and laptop sized quilts on my normal sewing machine but one of our members has a long arm quilting machine and she reqularly quilts 8 or 10 tops sewn by members to donate. If you would like a regular place to send tops...knowing that they would be quilted and donated to a charity you could PM me. Until I found this group, I was making quilts for family and friend....it wasn't until I found an outlet for my finished quilts that I realized, I have a lot of quilt ideas and love being able to share. I have tripled the number of quilts that I make each year.

Quilts For Kids can use them. They usually have people volunteer to do the quilting. If you need someone to do the quilting for you, then submit them to QFK, I can do it for you. Just PM me if you like. I'd be happy to quilt them for you and submit them to QFK.

It all sounds so good, but you havent seen my quilt tops yet. I am a beginner and do have some small inperfections like points are missing etc. The one I am amost finished with is a sailboat one but unfortuately all the sailboats have the points of the boat cut off due to miscalulation of the squares for the sails but it looks ok. Dont have a way to take a picture so will have to just pick someone and send it and hope you can work with it.

Nobody's perfect when they first start out. Including me. I think a little sick boy would love a sailboat quilt and I honestly don't think he would even notice that the points are off. They are for comforting the sick and needy. They aren't going to be judged or anything. No quilt police here, lol.

The one I did last year for my granddaughter i SID and it wasnt perfect but it was ok. I hand embroidered six blocks sashed them and then added two borders and then quilted it.
