I took a log cabin crib size class many years ago but after doing all the sewing, it ended up in my attic.
I am taking a logarm class next week.
I did not wash the fabric before sewing but the fabric seems to have faded over the many years.
Yesterday, I found the pattern w/extra fabric, I noticed the
fabric I found was just like new,oh my.
My question is,should I wash the quilt "after" taking my long arm class or do it now before class ?

Where do I purchase the product (forget name) I seen on another post to be used when washing a quilt so the colors do not run ?

Thanks in advance for your help
    Linda

Prewashing is actually a personal preference. If you are taking a longarm quilting class, I do suggest giving the top a good pressing. Have your seams as flat as possible and no tucks pressed into the top.

Don't wash your quilt without a back on it. That might be a stringy disaster. Quilt it, then wash it.

Shout Color Catchers are the most popular in that line. In the 90s, I used a reusable one from JoAnn's with success. I recently saw a reusuable one at WalMart, but can't recall the manufacturer.
