    hello there. My DH is from Bonham. I think one of my favorites for a man are the Bowtie,and the shaded 9 patch. You can make the center sq of the shaded 9 patch all solid to make it-use his favorite color, then plaids for the rest of the dark pieces. My hubby loves that pattern.

    I really don't think it's the pattern you need to fret over. I think any pattern would work (ok, maybe not flowers and such) as long as you pick out the right (masculine) fabrics. Good luck!

    Split rail fence like Quilt in a Day has with a large rail in the center to display a thematic print.

    I know it says for kids or kids at heart but it is great for adults too. Just pick the right fabric.
