Missed a Spot - Applique Question
I was quilting away this evening when I realized that I somehow overlooked two small pieces when I was appliqueing the quilt top. Everyone in the house has been watching this quilt come to life, and no one noticed, so it isn't a huge glaring problem. But if I don't applique them, they will probably fall off sooner rather than later. I am thinking maybe I should just applique them on as best I can through the quilt sandwich. Is that the best solution? Or would you just leave it?

You could appliqué by hand around the pieces, or else do it as you suggested, especially if your all around quilting will camouflage it. But I think it should be sewn down in some fashion. But don't worry over it.

This happened to me. I got a quilt back from LA quilter and noticed I had missed an area of the applique part and just got out a needle and thread and did a few turn under stitches and solved the problem.

When I had to machine applique a spot after the quilt was finished, I did it through all the layers then added a label to cover the spot with some batting behind it to fill in the "dented" area and disguise the back of the applique stitches.
