Default Moda's #1 group at Quilt Market last weekend

The Moda rep came by today and told me that their Number One collection at Market was by a new designer, "V and Co."

Apparently for a brand new designer to have the top collection is pretty much unheard of!

So who wants to see what it looks like?

What do you think? Does it inspire you? What would you make from these fabrics?

(Hint: I'm told that the designer herself was wearing a skirt made from the gray and white dot fabric.)

I love the ombre fabric although I'm not certain how I'd used it in a quilt. It screams skirt or sundress to me.

IMHO the fabric is pretty but I wouldn't use it for quilting.

Meh! It doesn't impress me at all. Too bad because I'm a Moda fanatic.

Several of the designs spoke my name. I especially like the several 'nature' style prints in the various colors. The ombres would be great to use as individual strips/squares/shapes of the various shades to get variety of color from a single piece of fabric.

I can also see using some of the more 'geometric' designs in a quilt for a child or teen.

I absolutely love it. If you have people who are doing more modern quilts and/or will venture out it could be used for anything. I am doing a Marti Michell sampler quilt (BOM) using the "Stitch in Color" and am loving it, but it is a little out there. Trying to think of something offhand: Swoon; Market Fresh (Urban country Qults), Transparency Quilts (especially the ombres) or using the ombres for a tumbling blocks quilt.

I love it! I can already think of 3 or 4 dif. quilts to use it for! I really like the colors and the mix of patterns Can't wait til it comes out in October (I think is what it said) def. going to get some yardage so long as income allows.

I think a simple Jelly Roll Race in the ombres could turn out quite pretty. I think the more modern style quilt would be great done up in these tones. The fabric she had her skirt made out of, will make a great dress for my dress loving 4yr old!
