What a gorgeous quilt! As pretty as the boarder fabric is, in my opinion there is too much going on to be useful as a boarder.

I kind of like the border fabric! Maybe cut a strip the width of the border and take a photo, and do the same with a quieter fabric, so you have something to compare it to.

the border has all the colors and you can use it but maybe as an inner border. the quilt blocks will be separated by the black, then the print border and then a black one again would look great. lovely quilt!!

I love your top but personally I think that border fabric is way too busy. I would try auditioning some of the solids/tonal you have in the top and maybe have 2-3 borders different size widths.

A beautiful quilt. I echo the other ladies about the border fabric. Love your choice of colours. I agree with QM, borders in black and then purple as in your sashing would really make it pop, that's if you have enough of those fabrics.

I'm with the others, I think that fabric is a little too busy and will overwhelm the quilt. It might make an awesome binding fabric, though!

No to that border fabric.....looking at the framed butterflies...shouldn't those corners have hst..like in an attic window...I think the original pattern calls for that....good way to showcase the butterflies......

Gorgeous, gorgeous quilt. I like the idea of solid/tone on tone borders also.

Such a beautiful quilt. I'm with some of the others, the fabric for border is a little too busy. Lovely though. Please show when finished because we like pictures.
