Worked for hours on sandwiching a quilt today just to find out that the backing was too short.................
I had planed the top and made the backing accordingly. Then I did not like the edges of the top and added a different border and one more border and then I just used up a can of adhesive spray to put the wool batting to the back, an other one to put the top in place......................dont ask me, how long it took to take all apart and also add a border to the back!?

It says that the 505 washes out with water. It took me three rounds of machine washing and everything was still slightly sticky

I am sorry this happened...
Did you put it in the dryer? I wonder if the heat dissipates the adhesive?

was a bit scared of the dryer because of the wool batting but I was able to get it apart with the steam of the iron.
On the other hand I am asking myself about sandwiching with adhesive spray - it does not wash out as they promise.

My understanding about 505 is that it disapates over time?? Any one else heard that?

Maybe it was the wool? I have only used it with cotton.

That is so frustrating. I'm sure you called that quilt a few names. I'm glad you got everything worked out.
