I am hoping you lovely ladies can help me decide on what type of quilt to make my three year old Grandaughter. My Grandaughter whose name is Sydney, was born and lives in Alaska with her mum and dad. I want to make her a quilt but don't know whether to do a 'girlie quilt', an aussie theme quilt, or something more Alaskan.

My daughter can't decide so maybe someone could help me.

I would make her an Aussie quilt since it is from you and perhaps she would love to know things of you (smile) - just my humble opinion.

With that name and a grandmum that lives in Australia make her one of your beautiful country, kangaroos, the ocean, mts,so many things to choose from. It is part of her heritage!

Since she is 3 I think "girly", The next one you make for her could be Australian, so she will have a glimpse of where you are.

Girly.
I feel bad that you're so far away from her but thank goodness there's technology (cameras on pcs) so you can still see and talk to her.

For a three year old I'd do a girlie quilt you could still put some koala bears on it so she's got something from Australia in her quilt, little girls would them - heck I'm an adult and love them!
