I've heard Shading mentioned several times. I know how to do that with paint but how does one do it with textiles? I would love to know how this is done since I'm contemplating a Geisha Panel Window Quilt. TIA.

It's a geisha panel with a nice boarder to hang in my windows to keep the cold out. The actual panels are shown in another post that I titled geisha panel. I'm very direct with my topic names. Or at least I try to be.

I know of shading with value. You can determine the value of fabrics by photocopying them and reading the light to dark value or you can view them through some value finders to read their value. Then you lay the fabrics in order of value from light to dark.

I definitely need a value finder. Thank you for the information.
