My blocks are slightly different in size. Do I unpick & sew again or any other ideas

Pictures might help with giving better advice , but if the seam involves matching triangle points, I would personally pick it out and fudge it around till it was pointy , other then that unless it is WAY off ( more then 1/4 of an inch ) I would leave it, you will probably not even notice it once the top is done

I'm assembling a top right now, 140 6.5" blocks. Not all of them are exactly 6.5" so I have to fiddle a bit to get them right. Some need a bit of strechting, some just the opposite. I don't unpick and sew again!

a seam ripper is a quilter's best friend. i unsew a lot. but if the error can't be seen from a galloping horse, i don't fret over it.

how far off? can they be trimmed to be all the same size? often if you square up/trim your blocks after stitching you can easily get them all the same size before sewing them together. before putting them together practice getting that 1/4" seam consistent. cut a stack of 1 1/2" strips x 6" ... sew 3 together- measure the center strip, it should measure 1"...if it does not look at your seam, determine why- *too wide? too narrow?* adjust & try a new group of strips---until you get it right- then either mark your machine or use a piece of tape, stack of post it flags, a cut index card...what ever to use as a guide to help you line up & sew your 1/4" seam consistently.

If your blocks are all squares, can you trim them all down to the same size? Maybe discard and remake, or unpick the very smallest one(s). You might loose points, but the assembly will be easier. As everyone else stated, it depends on how much off they are.

I did a sampler quilt. Suppose to be 10 1/2 " when done . 4 of them were 10 1/2 by 10 1/4 so I put them in one row and no one knows the difference. Beats ripping out.

Depends upon how far off they are. If they can be eased in without wrinkles, I'd let it go. Once it's quilted, those tiny differences won't be noticeable. If they can't be eased in, I'd either trim the larger ones or remake the smaller ones.

depends on how far off, and what the blocks look like. One solution would be to frame each with a sashing... (we end up doing a lot of that with my guild when we do block exchanges, not everyone's block ends up exactly the correct dimensions) then after sashing, trim to a consistent size. Please, show us your finished top! I am betting it will be fabulous!
