So, I stashed the butt ugly UFO and pulled it out the other day to work on. I'm not going to let this beat me..... so to calm it down, I've decided to do a large middle square of a 24" carpenter's wheel, using calming blues and greens. Then surround it with the scrappy squares I did for the first 3 rows. I think it will work. Future DIL sees it and says- I want it! I love it! Where is it going? I said- to you, because it's ugly and I don't want it. She LOVES it!

But, I designed it for a double bed, she needs queen. So, rather than add rows of more ugliness---- what would be a good border, keeping in mind this is made from my scraps and stash.

thanks!

Barb

It was posted a while ago. Here it is ............

I guess I needed to walk away from it because it grows on you. Not enough for me to want it on my bed. :)

Thanks!

How about a French braid with the sashing fabric as cornerstones? There is another thread with fabulous staggering geese today - they are sooooo striking. Take a look-

Looks like you raided MY fabric stash -- I have so many of the same ones. I like it -- each chunk of fabric has it's own story... left over from another quilt, a dressmaking project, a friend's leftover. (I get emotional over my fabric and suffer from "severe cutter's remorse".) How about using a "string strip" down the sides. If you cut the pieces at a bit of an angle it would carry on the "scrappy" look. (I think I would like your fdi. She has a good respect for fabric.)
