These classes are not cheap so I take the easy road, with books , dvds ,you tube and my friends . We are very close and we have the ideal quilting classmates . We take classes but have not nightmares,,,yet. Good luck.

Have never had the money to take a class, but I agree with everything you said. In high school the boy behind me lifted my desk off the floor with his legs (with me in it). I was a freshman, he was a junior. I got an F in Algebra, because I was too shy to complain.

Yep the hush up and let people listen to what is going on is the biggest thing that some people forget about.

has actually had her machine out of the box before, and has used a sewing machine before....no this was not a new machine class it was an advanced block class, and hopefully understands the word triangle.

(at break we heard that her DH expected her to come home (2 day class) with a bedspread. my sip of coffee almost came out my nose.)

Dear friend of mine took a class and said same thing. She told him that unless he was pregnant with child, not to 'expect" anything more than a swatch of fabric.

Bearisgray is right on. Classes are expensive and you want to get as much out of them as possible. Most folks know this and share your desire to learn.

Shows up on time and is ready when class starts, but doesn't show up early, work way ahead and then expect everyone else to catch up, or talk while they are trying to figure out what is going on.
