    I'm dating myself but I can remember when most spools were wooden...the transition was just beginning.

    My Mom used to carry one of those kits in her purse back in the 70's. It was handy if you lost a button or had a rip in your clothing.

    i have two packs of needles that say 3 cents never used i got them at an auction with some feedsacks that ladies used in the 30's
