Visited the thrift shop again. I go there 1 to 2 times a week. I spent 5 bucks and look what I got. I was rahter pleased and so was DH, he likes it when I find bargains. Thank you for looking.

I'm gonna have to use the black and white for a quilt for my Daughter. She has already claimed it.

I'm finding it harder and harder to find fabric at the thrift shop cause everyone else in town had discovered my secret.

Good haul....I managed to resist the temptation of a sewing machine on Thursday....Friday stayed away from town 'til I knew they would be closed...Hoping it's not there on Monday or I'm done for!

I love it! Now I will peak into a thrift shop to see what they got. I was amazed at our shop! But, as Jim said; "ya done" this can't happen everyday." ugh!...

oooh! Cool! Tell us about the sewing machine!
I was talking to one of the local machine sales reps one day. He had just cleaned and fixed about six of my machines over a three month period and said: Some of these are going to die soon. Have you ever thought about a new machine?
no ... and, silly me! I told him - - why would I think about a new machine when I can go eight blocks east of here and find a good machine for $35?
well, yeah, but you don't know what kind of shape they are in ...
true, but then I will just bring it to you and you will fix it for me ... and, we will have both benefitted for a lot less cost to me .

I can't go to thrift stores for the same reason - - I will always see something to buy ... of course, to avoid going to thrift stores, I go to the fabric store when I want fabric ... something is not quite right with my reasoning, I think .... maybe, if I want fabric, I should just take my chances in the thrift store ... LOL .... am pondering the alternatives

I buy a lot of fabrics from my local op shops, not that they have a lot, some times none, but you have to get lucky sometimes! I have one favourite store which charges no more than $2.00 NZ a remnant piece, and if I am buying larger pieces they just throw in the smaller scraps. I also look for good cotton fabrics in the second hand clothing racks but not so many clothes are made from cotton these days, but I always manage to find a bargin once in a while.
Love your three fabrics, look forward to seeing what you decide upon design wise for them.

Actually the rulers were already mine, I just put them in the holder for show. I wish I could find those.

Love that black/white strip. I like to use fabrics like that to use on narrow borders. Makes it look like piecing but a lot less work.

Love your bargains. Our local thrift shops only have junk. You must live in large community. Finds like these make me want to re-visit those shops. Good going!

To me it is a small city about 10k ppl when MSU is on break, when it is not we are double plus some. I used to live in a city of 40k and that was too much for me. I live in a community of quilters and the majority of them are elderly so when they pass away and their family does not appreciate the art of quilting I get go benefit from it. Sad as it may be some people don't care about quilting.

I am sure those quilters who have passed away would have gladly given fabrics to other quilters, if they had realized it would be so greatly appreciated. They would be proud to know their fabrics are bringing joy to other crafters.
