I just found out there is another new machine. Has anyone here "test driven" it, and how was it. Anyone know what price range it is in?

Thanks

If you are talking about the new sewing/embroidery machine...it is fantastic and has a suggested retail of $12,000; but there are deals out there.

It's the Horizon 12000-that's the model number and MSRP. Looks cool, and I've heard it goes for $9999. But even for that, I'd skip the uncertainty and potential bugs of a new model and get a Bernina 830LE.

WOW - that was just about the price tag of our first house - and IT had a bathroom! Looks like I am still looking at a 6600. Bernina 830LE? Do you have that one Maia?

The Janome 7700 is a great machine. Great lighting, large throat space, lots of stitches, Accufeed feet (built in walking feet) and is easy to use. It also comes with an extended table. It's a lot like the Janome 6600, but with some additional features
The MSRP is about $3,000.
If you want to see what the 7700 owners are saying about it, there is a Yahoo group for the Janome 7700.

$3000? that is a long way off from 10 grand, isn't it?

There are two Horizon's -- and a huge price difference between them. The Horizon 12000 is considered (by Janome) an embroidery machine, but it has a lot of the features of the Horizon 7700, which is a lot cheaper.

Here are the links to the sites:

http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/...ry_Craft_12000 (This one is around $10,000)

http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/...ilting/Horizon (This one is available for anywhere from $2200 - $3000, depending on the dealer and region of the country. I know that some of the dealers have thrown in a table, the thread rack or a rolling cart.)
