Need Help in best/easiest way to quilt this.
So I am ready to quilt this piece and I do not have much experience in FMQ. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to quilt this piece. I am better with straight lines than anything else. If I do a straight line quilt up/down and accross should I change thread color with the material color? Any and all help appreciated.

Since you haven't free motion quilted before, I think I would start quilting in the white areas with white thread. Start in the center of the sandwich right at the tree stem (not on the colour fabric) and stitch the straight lines between the blocks to the edge with a walking foot if you have one. Turn the quilt and stitch out with white on the opposite side. Continue in this manner until all the white SITD lines coming out from the tree are done. This will stabilize the quilt and depending on the batting you might not much more quilting in the background. You can then decide how to quilt the tree part. Beautiful Twister!

OH OH OH I just love this. You know, do you struggle with stippling?? I think swirls in white thread in the white areas and something that would blend in the darker areas would look FANTASTIC on this project...all that white space is just begging for texture!!! Swirly circles wouldn't be too difficult if you feel confident with stippling alredy - just practice drawing on a sheet of paper a swirling circles design without lifting your pen...then try it with thread!
Just a tip - you are going to drive yourself batty with all those pins! Every three or four inches should be plenty sufficient to keep you from sewing wrinkles in! (It looks like a smaller quilt from the picture - if it's larger you're right to use lots of pins!)
