Default Fantastic Scrap Buster Approach

I quilt in a way that generates a lot of scraps, and have long been looking for a good scrapbuster method. I have tried many recommended approaches but all were too much work (ie cutting everything into specific sized squares etc.) or too boring.

I have finally found the method that works for me! It is easy, fun and any scrap works! Terry Rowland came up with it and posted a three video series on YouTube to show you how she does things. Full of great tips and highly recommended!

Great way to use up fabric you don't want any longer as well!

I'm working on it right now! I have about 400 blocks made. As a life long precision quilter, the improve of this is very freeing, relaxing. My friend Joan is doing one in Christmas fabrics, can't wait to see how that works.

Aren't her colorwash quilts fabulous?

It's interesting, I'd never heard of her until 6 months or so ago. Now I see her name popping up in lots of places.

If I ever get some of my actual projects done, and out of my way (literally!), I hope to work on a colorwash quilt. They are so pretty, and it sure looks like fun.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I am just finishing a “measure it to death” scrappy, and while it’s neat to look at, I’m not particularly eager to do another one soon. 😆

I would want to press more than she does, I think, but what a great process.

hugs,
charlotte

Thank you for the link! I have a fair amount of scraps prepped in the Bonnie Hunter scrap savers system, but it work to get them there. And while I sometimes find exactly what I am looking for, most times it just seems like the pile gets larger and larger. I can see myself using this method to reduce the existing piles.
