but I would like to take it further if I may. As you all know by now and if you don't you must have been away for the passed several months (grin) also having a thought to finger problem today. so forgive me. I received the Berninia Editor Plus as I just had the plain vanilla editor Lite that came with the machine. And as we all know computerizations are changing and updating every minute. I have it loaded it on my new Dell 17" laptop. I am now moving files from my old laptop over to the various files as the information stated that it would suck all that stuff up within itself and make some changes, etc... So that's what I'm working on today. BUT.. I have been hearing a lot to like about EMBIRD and I downloaded several of their files in my .exp ddesignation to my laptop. I believe two of our quilters in this group stated A. they were very happy with EMBIRD and B. I believe one did answer my question "can you have more then embroidery program on your computer"..and the answer was yes. Since I am in this for the long haul and this is the last machine and embroidery stuff that I will ever need, I am looking for several different insights in ustilizing two separate programs, especially as I will using the same format for my 630. If you prefer to comment privately, you can do that, if you would like to include it as a more indepth thread, that's fine also. I thank anyone who could send me any input and really apprciate the boards working with me.

Blue, tired, confused and determined to learn.;

All I can say is -- every single one of your questions is way beyond my expertise! Hope there are some embroidery experts here who can help you out.

I am not sure what it is you are wanting to know. Embird is a great program for working with embroidery designs. You can buy only the parts of the program that you know you want to use (for example, if you're not interested in digitizing, you don't have to buy that portion of it). It is very reasonably priced program. If you want to edit embroidery designs, I don't think you can find a program that is easier to use. The only problem I have had is that the Iconizer part of the program (which lets you see your embroidery designs as icons) does not yet work with Windows 7. I believe there is supposed to be a workaround for that, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

When I got my first embroidery machine (a Brother PE 180), I had PE Design on my computer along with Embird and had no problems. I did not use PE Design much as I found Embird much easier to use, so now only have Embird as I did not move PE Design to my new laptop or upgrade it over the years.

One other thing I like about Embird is that you can legally have it on more than one computer. I have it on my laptop which I use in my living room where I work on designs while watching tv with hubby, and I have it on my other laptop which is in my sewing room. All in all, it's a great program.
