Thanks everyone for the ideas. It never crossed my mind to go to thrift stores. She quilts for family and charities. I am looking for a guild near my new house. I'm hoping she will go with me. I'm not sure when she will be moving from VA to GA but I want to have some stuff ready for her when she gets here. Thanks so much

The Cotton Loft has great quilt fabric @ $6.95 a pound. I buy from them all the time. I bought batiks the last time. Bought 2 pounds. Each piece is about the size of a FQ or just a little smaller. Every piece was different. They don't have batiks now but the do have great quality quilting fabric. Check them out. You will actially spend more at the thrift store and still not get the variety or quality. And no, I don't know them from Adam's house cat. Online store only. CHECK OUT SPECIALS UNDER "CHRIS'S BLOG."

Fayzer -- thanks for the tip. I haven't been to that site before and it looks like a fun place to shop.
