A friend want me to make a quilt for her Dad. Hes a civil war buff and does alot of the renactments. She doesn't want civil war novelty material. She want design found durring that era. Any suggestion?

Check out these sites for ideas and fabric options and color schemes.....Reproductionfabrics.com...They have them listed by era and years. Great selection...and OldTrinitySchoolhouseQuiltshop.com. At least it is a place to start. There is also a book on the era you may be able to pick up at the library as well....Unraveling the History of Quilts and Slavery,Facts and Fabrications or Dating Fabrics,a Color Guide 1800-1960....this will give you an idea of the fabric styles used. There are many books or you could look on-line for other era specific quilts. Quilting Societies often show or carry patterns specific to certain times. Good luck in your search. Will love to see when finished. Hope this helps some.
