I am piecing Eleanor Burns .Trip Around The World, quilt top.
It starts with 2 strips of five different fabrics. It says to press the seams away from fabric # 1 then cut the strips 4" wide and sew strip A to strip B. When you go to sew them together you can't butt the seams up against each other because they are both pressed going the same way. Should I stay with the directions or should I press row B the other way so the seams butt up against each other. Thank you so much for the help.

Are you sure you are supposed to join them side by side? Or add b onto a?

you cut the long strips, of five fabrics, every 4" across . strip A starts with fabric 1, strip B starts with fabric 2 then then when you sew them together each square is moved over 1 square in each row. They match up fine it's just that the seams match up on the same side and I thought you should always be able to butt them together so they lay flat.

Turn one strip around to the other end.

Hi. As you can see I am kind of new here. I found these instructions online that have a lot of pictures. Perhaps they will help.

I watched the video and it is different than the older book I am using but Eleanor did iron all the seams so they nest together so that's what i'll do. Thanks everyone
